Felipe is the one who went from being a volunteer in Herräng to being a teacher in the same place in just three short years. Classy !
Of Brazilian origin, he grew up in this culture, so rich in dance and music, and developed an incredible sense of rhythm. (He also played drums when he was young, does it help ?). Based in Montpellier since 2017, he continues to travel the world to teach and transmit his passion.
Settled in Bordeaux since September 2017, Egle is one of the main lindy teachers in Lithuania. she contributes to the development of the talented Lithuanian scene. Coming from a family of dancers, it is like second nature to her. After having practiced ballroom and folk dances for 10 years, she found what she was looking for in 2004 when she met the world of swing dances. For her, dancing allows people to overcome their fears and really connects them to who they are.
Until the age of twenty, Jonatan‘s daily life was mainly about playing various team sports. But very quickly, he was introduced to couple dances (foxtrot, swedish « bugg » etc.) and in 2010, while studying pedagogy at the University, he went to his first Lindy Hop initiation and immediately fell in love with the dance ! Shortly afterwards, he attended a performance of the « Harlem Hot Shots » and impressed by the energy released, he realized that Lindy Hop offered things to learn and improve for a lifetime! Today, you will find him on the dance floor with a fluid and rhythmic dance, but he also likes to challenge himself to perform and compete. For the past year, Jonatan has been living in Toulouse where he teaches with Anna and they share their passion for Lindy Hop both locally and internationally.
Passionate about dance, Anna trained in several professional schools in classical, jazz, contemporary and afro-contemporary dance (Toulouse, Ouagadougou). In 2010, she fell in love with the powerful energy of Lindy Hop, and enthusiastically discovered the exchange and communication between two partners, connected together to the music. Since then, she has enjoyed attending workshops and continues to learn and train as a dancer and teacher, always curious about new pedagogies and experiences. Very active on the Toulouse swing scene as a dancer and organizer, she also teaches Lindy Hop and jazz solo regularly at Studio Hop since 2013 .
Sep is a very very passionate swing jazz dancer and music expert. He is based in Ghent, Belgium. The combination of his educational background and daily practise makes him a unique person to work with. His energy and passion for the dance, music, art and vintage business made him a welcomed guest in many projects in Belgium and around Europe.
Alexia fell into the swing pot in 2005. Immediately attracted by the playful side of Lindy Hop, she has since travelled all over Europe and the United States to discover the different faces of this dance, and jazz in general. With a background in ballet, jazz and contemporary dancing, she is now mainly interested in african rhythm based dances and explores various rhythmic horizons. It is not surprising that the importance of rhythm is at the core of her dancing.
Daniel lives in Stockholm. He still works in the style and rhythmic heritage of the first swing legends. In addition to a wide variety of tap dance styles, Daniel also dances traditional Lindy Hop, Charleston, jazz roots but also modern jazz and classical dance. He is a complete artist. His professional life is also made up of singing, theatre and musicals, which he also choreographs. « Never stop learning » is his motto.
Tatiana lives in Montpellier. She’s learned classical and modern jazz for 12 years before moving to couple dances and specializing in swing dances that she shares around the world. Her overflowing energy, the great ease of her movements combined with a recognized technical maturity, make her a teacher that everyone appreciates.
Carolina Reapers Swing was born when young musicians crazy about jazz from the 1930s and 1940s met swing dancing. Out of this synergy came a band who brings back jazz standards and rare pieces that have bound together swing music and swing dance since the early days of Lindy Hop.
They revive for you songs that will thrill you, body and soul – by Fats Waller, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Sidney Bechet, Artie Shaw, Billie Holiday, Coleman Hawkins, and others – spiced up with some occasional touch of bebop and a taste of New Orleans.

Gentlemen & Gangsters play hot jazz with all the flair and sophistication of true gentlemen, coupled with the ruthless brutality of hardened gangsters. Armed with drumsticks instead of knuckle dusters and trombones instead of tommy guns these deranged masterminds spread mayhem, joy, and decadence wherever they go.
The Gentlemen & Gangsters play traditional New Orleans hot jazz with a touch of swing that stays true to the style of jazz giants such as Louis Armstrong, Bix Beiderbecke, Muggsy Spanier, Sidney Bechet, Duke Ellington, etc. Playing mainly for the Lindy Hop community, they perform all over Europe on a regular basis and dancers from all over the world have praised them for their energy, presence, and sensitivity to what matters to a dancing audience.

The Shirt Tail Stompers have quickly been recognised as one of Europe’s best social dance bands. Formed in 2010 in London, they have played numerous dance camps and shows throughout Europe. Truly appreciating the art of swing and knowing its place in history, they are heavily influenced by Fats Waller, Fletcher Henderson, Wingy Manone and many great others from the swing and traditional jazz era of the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. They are also influenced by the likes of the early Duke Ellington, Sidney Bechet and the old musical roots of New Orleans.

This year, there will be no auditions! We are counting on you to avoid under or overevaluating you.
The Hop’n Swing pedagogical team and the guest teachers reserve the right to change your level at any time – in either direction – if they feel that you are not really in the right place! 😉
You discovered Lindy Hop a short time ago and you have been taking classes for at least 5 to 6 months. You know the difference between lindy, charleston and groove-walk rhythms and you are starting to master the basics of 8-count, with some notions of 6-count.
The basics have (almost) no more secrets for you! You know movements in 8 and 6-counts and are exploring the more subtle aspects of dance: connection, musicality, variations… You practice regularly in addition to the classes and start to be comfortable in social dancing to different tempos.
That’s it, you got swinging in the skin! You practice as soon as the opportunity arises and have already participated in several internships or festivals outside your city. You manage to mix rhythm, technique and style over a wide range of tempos but your dance lacks fluidity and confidence. You are ready for another dose of challenge!
No secret here : you are an outstanding dancer ! Bringing style and playing on musicality have become second nature to you and you are as rhythmical as musical. You regularly go on the different French and even international stages through internships and evenings. If you are ready to focus on tiny details to improve your dancing and if top challenge does not scare you, then this level is for you !
You often find yourself in the middle of the lindy scenes and you are constantly looking to confirm your style! You have probably already participated in one or more competitions. You may even be a teacher in your city. Your thirst for progress is endless. The best of the challenge does not scare you.
This level takes longer to be validated because we have to process applications carefully. Thank you for your patience 😉
Registration opened on Saturday, February 23rd at 10am. And it was craaazy! You came forward and renewed the feat of completing all levels in less than 5 minutes!
If you missed it, you’ll know about it next year. For those on the waiting list, we recommend that you book the PARTY PASS to enjoy the festival. If a place becomes available for you, it can be transformed into a Full Pass by paying the difference.
Full in less than 5 minutes!
Only applications at level 5 are accepted.
Full in less than 4 days!
More information will be published soon…
